Bank Negara Malaysia will issue the new series of Malaysian coins into circulation starting 16 January 2012. Inspired from distinctive features that define the nation’s rich culture and heritage, the new coins will be available in denominations of 5 sen, 10 sen, 20 sen and 50 sen. The third series of Malaysian coins are issued with theme called “Distinctively Malaysia”.

The new coins are lighter and smaller make it more user-friendly to the public. Public could get the new coins in their normal business transactions. Hopefully all machine especially for the public use have been calibrate accordingly to accept the new Malaysia coins to ensure smooth transition.
