Stamp Duty for S&P/SPA

Current

Stamp Duty for purchase of residential property not exceeding RM250,000 are given stamp duty exemption of 50%, The exemption is granted on one residential property for each individual Malaysian citizen. The exemption is effective for S&P/SPA executed from 8 September 2007 to 31 December 2010.

Proposed in Budget 2011

  • 50% stamp duty exemption will be given on S&P/SPA with residential property price not exceeding RM350,000.
  • The exemption is granted on the first residential property purchased by Malaysian citizen and eligible to be claimed once only within the exemption period.
  • Eligible for S&P/SPA executed from 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2012.

Loan Agreement

Current

Stamp duty rate on loan agreement for purchase of residential property is at 0.5% of the loan value. Loan agreement for residential property priced not exceeding RM250,000 are givent stamp duty exemption of 50%. The exemption is granted for the purchase of one residential property for each individual Malaysia citizen. The exemption is effective for S&P/SPA executed from 30 August 2008 to 31 December 2010.

Proposed in Budget 2011

  • 50% stamp duty exemption will be given on loan agreement with residential property price not exceeding RM350,000.
  • Eligible for loan agreements made between purchase with the bank, financial instituions, insurance companies, cooperatives or employer under the employer housing loan scheme.
  • The exemption is granted on the first residential property purchased by Malaysian citizen and eligible to be claimed once only within the exemption period.
  • Eligible for S&P/SPA executed from 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2012.

    dlm proses beli rumah, semuanya akan dilakukan oleh lawyer yg kite dh appoint…termasukla pembayaran stamp duty kepada lembaga hasil…sebelum buat bayaran, kena bgtau kat lawyer yg anda eligble utk 50% rebate tu (incase lawyer malas nak tanya)…ade form yg anda kena isi…tugas lawyer utk dptkan form tu dan juga utk submit form tu ke lembaga hasil…pendek kata, lawyer yg patut settlekan…so bile buat payment nanti, hanya byr 50% saje dari amount yg sepatutnya
