1) Being a muslim, is it halal to go for the conventional loan when applying home loan?
2) Is the conventional or islamic loan just a term to use?

Please email me BSN contact details from this flyer. I think BLR -2.6% applies only within 48hrs last week (at BSN booth at MAPEX, 2-4 March 2012.) Hence that rate may no longer be valid now.

Please be informed that :-
1. BFR – 2.60% is only for the first 2 years. Thereafter is much more expensive compared to others bank. If you calculate the amount of profit from the package you will actually pay higher compared to Bank Muamalat (example).
2. BSN is not governed by Bank Negara like other commercial banks. There are currently 3 FIs that are not fully governed by Bank Negara i.e. MBSB, Bank Rakyat and BSN.
3. Customer whether a Muslim or not are not obliged to take Islamic or Conventional Home Loan. Islamic and conventional is 2 diffrent terms. In terms of rate calculation, monthly instalment, redemption figure, penalty charges and etc.
Lastly for BSN package don’t be fooled by the marketing gimmick which is the rate BFR – 2.80%. Are you rather paying BFR – 2.80 for 2 years and BFR – 1.80% for the rest of financing tenure or BFR – 2.40% for the whole financing duration??
