BLR is going UP?

FacebookShare

BLR is expected to be increased further following to the increment of OPR.

In Business Times Online today, it was a news regarding the expectation on increment of Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) in 2011 by HSBC co-head of Asian Economics Fred Neumann.

He said, “BNM is expected to raise OPR by 25 basis points to 3 per cent in the third quarter and another 25 basis points to 3.25 per cent by the end of the year.

Based on the above statement, I’ve plot a graph on OPR and BLR historical data together with the expectation of future OPR and also BLR to see where they are moving. It seems that sooner or later, like it or not, the BLR is going to be normalised, or maybe even higher than the old BLR rate…masa utk honeymoon sudah habis…GET READY FOR HARD TIMES!

Nafisah: see where they are moving. It seems that sooner or later, like it or not, the BLR is going to be normalised, or maybe even higher than the old BLR rate…masa utk hon

bila BLR naik, satu petunjuk bahawa pasa masa tu Bank Negara tak menggalakkan orang buat pinjaman bank. Sebab lg banyak pinjaman bank, lagi bnyk org berbelanja.. lg banyak org berbelanja..inflasi boleh meningkat..

bila BLR dinaikkan.. org dok diam je.. takut ooo nak pinjam wit..hehe.. so, perbelanjaan tak naik mendadak, so inflasi maintain pada kadar yang diinginkan Bank Negara.

Bagi yg buat loan ASB, rasanya dah terima srt revise rate according to the changes in previous amendment BLR/BFR. Kalu yg dah fixed rate, mmg terselamatlah..
