ASN 3 Dividend @ 6.00 sen per unit
ASN 3 Dividend for the financial year ended 30 November 2010 has been announced at 6.00 sen per unit, increased 0.5 sen per unit compared to income distribution in 2009.
Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) has announced an income distribution of 6.00 sen per unit for Amanah Saham Nasional 3 Imbang (ASN 3) for the financial year ended 30 November, 2010.
This is an increase of 0.5 sen per unit compared with the income distribution of 5.50 sen per unit last year.
The income distribution will involve a total payment of RM7.3 million and would benefit a total of 10,952 unit holders who hold a combined 121.02 million units of ASN 3.
PNB Chairman, Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid said ASNB has performed better this year in tandem with the encouraging performance of the local economy and stock market. The FBM KLCI Index registered an increase of 19.4%, from 1,259.11 points recorded on 30 November 2009 to 1,503.20 points recorded on 22 November 2010.
As at 22 November, 2010, ASN 3 has recorded a gross income of RM8.52 million. Of the amount, dividend income contributed RM3.02 million or 35.5%, profit from the sale of shares contributed RM3.65 million or 42.8% while RM1.85 million or 21.7% is derived from other income.
The income distribution of ASN 3 will be calculated based on the unit holdings on 30 November, 2010, which is the last day of the financial year of the fund. The income distribution paid will be re-invested into additional units of ASN 3, which will be automatically credited into the unit holders’ accounts, based on the Net Asset Value (NAV) on 30 November, 2010.
For those unit holders subscribing ASN 3 through the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Members’ Investment Scheme, the income distribution will be credited directly into their respective EPF investment accounts.
All transactions for ASN 3 at the ASNB offices and agents has been suspended from 23 November, 2010 to 30 November, 2010 to facilitate the calculation of income distribution.
Unit holders will be able to update their accounts at ASNB head office; ASNB branch offices or ASNB agents beginning 1 December, 2010.
ASN 3 is a variable priced balanced fund with the objective of generating capital growth over the medium to long-term period by investing in a balanced portfolio of investments through re-investment of distribution, if any. ASN 3 is opened to all Malaysians aged 18 years and above. It is also listed in the Employees Provident Fund Members’ Investment Scheme.
